Spektr
A prefab construction technology using large-block precast concrete
Spektr is a patented prefab construction technology using large-block precast concrete. Its core idea is to combine the advantages of industrial production with the ability to create individual architectural and layout solutions.
The technology rests on a limited set of standard elements and the “sliding wall” principle, which allows the position of openings and the configuration of a building to change without producing a unique set of panels for every project.
Context
The main difficulty of this project lies in the product itself.
Spektr cannot really be explained in a single phrase like “fast-build precast concrete houses”. The value appears precisely in the combination of several things: factory-made elements, a high degree of prefabrication, speed of assembly, lower production risk — and architectural flexibility alongside all of it.
And the technology is not limited to private housing: townhouses, duplexes, apartment buildings of up to seven storeys, commercial and municipal buildings, and large-scale area development are all being worked out on its basis.
So the marketing task here is not to “show the houses nicely”, but to build from an engineering product a clear system of arguments for different use cases.
Turn a complex construction technology into a clear market product
Approach
Translate the technology from engineering language into the language of value
The original technical logic is full of detail: panel types, connection nodes, assembly, production, mobile plants, design specifications. But on their own those specifications do not yet explain why the market needs the technology.
So the communication is built around a clearer system:
industrialisation → speed and quality control
standard elements → lower cost and lower risk
the “sliding wall” → individuality without losing the advantages of series production
It is exactly this tension — standardised production versus freedom in the finished product — that became one of the central ideas in Spektr’s communication.
Split one product into several market scenarios
The arguments for a private house and for a developer cannot be the same.
For private housing what matters is the quality of the house, the speed of construction, energy efficiency and the chance to get an individual solution.
For development the foreground shifts to project economics, industrialisation, speed of capital turnover, lower defect risk and the ability to develop large areas. In the decks this effectively becomes a separate product logic for each audience.
Show what cannot yet be photographed on demand
A large part of the product exists as technology, as designs and as future solutions. So 3D became not a decorative addition but a working marketing tool.
Visualisation makes it possible to show different architectural solutions, house ranges, apartment projects, plants and area-development scenarios long before there are many finished buildings to photograph.
What I did
I am responsible for the marketing and visual packaging of the project:
And this is not one universal set of materials. Separate decks are assembled for different tasks — from a general explanation of the technology to private housing and developer scenarios.
Outcome
A complex engineering development now has one coherent way of presenting itself to the market: a brand identity, a website, visualisations and materials that explain the same technology at different levels — from how it works to the economics of a large development project.
The Spektr site was featured among the best projects
The product itself keeps developing — new building types, production scenarios and applications have appeared — so the site is being redesigned too, to reflect a more mature product architecture.
